Week 2 Fantasy Football Practice News & Notes for Wednesday

Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (right wrist) practiced fully Wednesday. Bortles only attempted 21 passes in Week 1 as the Jaguars’ defense Leonard Fournette did most of the heavy lifting against the Texans.

Vikings QB Sam Bradford (knee) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Bradford had a great Week 1 and will try to keep it going against a tougher Steelers defense in Week 2.

Colts QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder) did not practice Wednesday. He’s out for Week 2, probably longer. Jacoby Brissett may draw the start this week after Scott Tolzien stunk it up against the Rams in Week 1.

Broncos QB Paxton Lynch (right shoulder) did not practice Wednesday.

Panthers QB Cam Newton (right shoulder) practiced fully Wednesday. Newton should be fine to face the Bills.

Texans QB Tom Savage (finger/left hand) practiced fully Wednesday.

Texans QB Deshaun Watson (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday. Watson is expected to start against the Bengals.

Texans RB Alfred Blue (ankle, out) did not practice Wednesday.

Broncos RB Devontae Booker (wrist) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (not injury related) did not practice Wednesday. It’s a day of rest for Charles.

Bears RB Benny Cunningham (ankle) did not practice Wednesday. Tarik Cohen will back up Jordan Howard, even if Cunningham were healthy.

Texans RB Tyler Ervin (knee) practiced fully Wednesday.

Jets RB Matt Forte (knee, abdomen) practiced fully Wednesday.

Falcons RB Brian Hill (ankle) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

Browns RB Duke Johnson (chest) practiced fully Wednesday. Johnson should be fine to face the Ravens, though the two touches he saw on 76% of the snaps is worrisome.

Bills RB LeSean McCoy (wrist) practiced fully Wednesday. McCoy should be fine for a tougher test against the Panthers.

Eagles RB Donnel Pumphrey (hamstring) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

Redskins RB Chris Thompson (back) practiced fully Wednesday. Thompson turned seven touches into 56 yards and a touchdown against Philadelphia. He continues to have RB3/flex appeal in PPR leagues.

Bills RB Mike Tolbert (knee) practiced fully Wednesday. Tolbert saw 13 touches for 54 yards and a touchdown operating as the backup to LeSean McCoy.

Ravens RB Danny Woodhead (thigh) did not practice Wednesday. Woodhead is out for at least a month. Javorius Allen gets the biggest bump, but QB Joe Flacco suggested that Mike Campanaro as a possible replacement for Woodhead.

Jaguars RB T.J. Yeldon (hamstring) practiced fully Wednesday. It looks like Yeldon will play against the Titans, which could put a dent in Leonard Fournette’s snaps, specifically in the passing game.

Patriots WR Danny Amendola (concussion, knee) did not practice Wednesday. Amendola may have trouble getting cleared to play in Week 2, though he has a few extra days thanks to playing on the first Thursday of the NFL season. If he’s out, Chris Hogan gets a bump, with Phillip Dorsett likely to see some playing time as well.

Browns WR Kenny Britt (knee) practiced fully Wednesday. Britt was called out by his head coach after a poor Week 1 effort.

Cardinals WR John Brown (quadricep) did not practice Wednesday. Brown dealt with a quad issue this summer, so maybe it flared up during Week 1. The Cardinals may just be getting him some rest in the hopes that they can manage his sickle-cell trait. If he’s out, Jaron Brown and J.J. Nelson would see an increased workload. Stay tuned.

Redskins WR Jamison Crowder (hip) practiced fully Wednesday. Crowder had a quiet Week 1, but is still very much in Washington’s plans.

Redskins WR Josh Doctson (hamstring) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

Texans WRs Bruce Ellington (concussion, out) and Will Fuller (shoulder, out) did not practice Wednesday. Braxton Miller and Jaelen Strong will get most of the snaps at receiver opposite DeAndre Hopkins.

Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (wrist) practiced fully Wednesday. Hopkins will play on Thursday night. He may not be efficient against a good Cincinnati secondary, but he doesn’t have to be when he’s seeing 16 targets like he did in Week 1.

Colts WR Chester Rogers (hamstring) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

Bengals WR John Ross (knee, questionable) practiced fully Wednesday. Ross is a “long shot” to play Thursday night, according to beat writer Jim Owczarski.

Patriots WR Matt Slater (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.

Bears WR Markus Wheaton (finger) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

Cowboys WR Terrance Williams (ankle) did not practice Wednesday. Williams left the Sunday night game briefly but returned and played pretty well.

Texans TE Stephen Anderson (concussion, out) did not practice Wednesday.

Bills TE Charles Clay (shoulder) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Clay should be able to play through the shoulder injury. He led the Bills with nine targets last week.

Texans TE C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) has been placed on injured reserve. He may be able to return, but he’s safe to drop in most formats.

Cardinals TE Jermaine Gresham (ribs) did not practice Wednesday.

Texans TE Ryan Griffin (concussion, out) did not practice Wednesday.

Jets TE Jordan Leggett (knee) did not practice Wednesday.

Falcons TE Eric Saubert (hamstring) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

Browns TE Randall Telfer (knee) practiced fully Wednesday.

Jets TE Eric Tomlinson (elbow) did not practice Wednesday.

Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah (ankle, questionable) practiced fully Wednesday.
