Streaming Defenses: Week 10 Targets

Last week, the San Francisco 49ers finished with 15 fantasy points and were the DEF4 in most scoring formats. Through nine weeks, our streaming targets are averaging 9.5 fantasy points per game.

This week, you will want to continue targeting defenses with home matchups who are favorited and facing teams with low implied team totals. We also want to target offenses with a below-average or rookie QB.

Generally, defenses have to be available on the waiver wire in at least 40 percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues to be eligible as a streaming option. This ensures we are talking about defenses that are readily available. Week 10 is in our sights, so let's look at the defensive options we're targeting this week.

Top Streaming Targets

Los Angeles Chargers @ Oakland Raiders

If you saw Oakland's "offense", you'll want to target them with their opponent's defense. This week, it's the Chargers.

It was being reported that Joey Bosa was set to return against Seattle, but it wasn't the case. If the defense gets Bosa back this week, that'll be a huge upgrade. Melvin Ingram has been responsible for generating the pressure on the defensive line. He's generating an 11.7 percent pressure rate and has converted four his pressures into sacks. Brandon Mebane is also capable of producing big plays.

Denzel Perryman is leading the defense in tackles and has been responsible for a turnover.

The real stud of the defense has been Derwin James. He's been responsible for 3.5 sacks and has had an impact all over the field, recording four tackles for a loss, an INT and six defended passes. He's capable of making big plays no matter where he lines up.

The Raiders' offense is in a state of chaos and has scored fewer than 10 points in three of their last four games. Carr has been sacked 24 times and thrown eight picks. This game is ripe for fantasy points for this defense. The Chargers enter the week as early 8.5-point favorites and the Raiders offense ranks 25th in aFPA to the defensive position.
