Streaming Defenses: Week 12 Targets
As discussed previously, we are rolling out a new-and-improved model this season for projecting fantasy defenses. This model focuses on the most predictable elements of defense scoring: points allowed, sacks and interceptions. To project points in each of those areas, we rely on the Vegas lines, quarterback history of interceptions and the offensive and defense history of producing sacks. Below, we will look at what those elements say for Week 12.

Looking Backward
Surprisingly, last week, our top pick was the one to underperform. The Redskins had the expected interception and only slightly underperformed in terms of sacks (two versus three expected). The big disappointment was in score points, as they allowed the Jets to score 34 points versus only 18 expected by Vegas.
Our second pick, the Raiders, put up a great score, with 11 points from the predictable elements. They overperformed both in sacks, with five versus only three expected, and in the score, with just 10 points allowed versus the Vegas expectation of just under 20.
Our streak of two out of three hits continues, however, as our third pick, the Colts also overperformed. They had only two sacks and one interception, both of which were slightly below expectations, but allowing only seven points (versus over 20 expected) was more than enough to make up for that and give them a higher score than projected.
