2021 Bermuda Championship: Round 3 Matchups
With the weather cooperating, scores during Friday's second round of the Bermuda Championship took a huge turn for the better. On average, players shot 3.4 strokes better than they did in Thursday's opening round. Nobody took more advantage of the better scoring conditions than Canadian Taylor Pendrith. He had a 9-hole stretch of 9-under par finishing with a course record 61 to take a one-shot lead over Patrick Rodgers heading into the third round. He's currently second in the field in putting for the week and 20th in ball-striking. He may be one of the most talented young players most fans have never heard of.
The highest-ranked player in the field, Patrick Reed, finished his second round six behind Pendrith. With so many lower-ranked volatile players on the front page of the leaderboard, anything can open over the next rounds. I love where one of my pre-tournament outright bets, Guido Migliozzi, sits at the moment. He currently leads the field in ball-striking and is only six shots back. He has the potential to go on a few birdie streaks down the stretch and has tremendous upside. Better yet, he can still be found at odds of +5000 on DraftKings.
