2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Round 3 Betting & Showdown Picks
As 34-year-old Irishman Seamus Power sank a four-foot birdie putt to finish off a consecutive round of 64, he was also setting the tournament 36-hole scoring record of 16-under par. Behind his brilliant performance thus far, Power has a seemingly insurmountable five-shot lead over challengers Tom Hoge, Andrew Putnam and Adam Svensson. After the round he remarked, "My wedge play was great. I had three or four shots I hit very, very close and the way I've been putting—they were not gimme birdies, but certainly ones you would expect to make." Having already played the tougher Spyglass course, tomorrow he tees off on the historically easy Monterey Bay course and could pad his lead even further. Patrick Cantlay (10-under) and Jason Day (9-under) appear to be the only two golfers capable of chasing down the streaking Power. They will need to start that journey in the third round tomorrow. Power, who won his first PGA tournament this past summer at the Barbasol, does not appear to be a candidate for collapse. "I just feel much more comfortable in these positions," Power said. "I'm putting myself there a little bit more often, so it definitely seems a little easier, but still obviously a lot of work to do over the weekend."
