2022 Farmers Insurance Open Round 2 Betting & Showdown Picks
While Billy Horschel was finishing his domination of the North Course at Torrey Pines with a 9-under 63, Jon Rahm sank a 12-foot eagle putt on the final hole at the tougher South Course to shoot a 66 at the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open tournament. While Rahm is three shots behind Horschel, a slew of other players shot 6-under or better on the North Course. In fact, of the 30 players who shot 67 or better, 26 played the North, which averaged 3.7 strokes easier on Thursday. Other interesting names near the top of the leaderboard include Rickie Fowler at 6-under and Sam Burns, Daniel Berger and Tony Finau at 5-under par. With Rahm playing on the North Course tomorrow, the question is not "if" he will shoot a low number, but how low that number will be.
While it already looks to be "Jon Rahm Week" from a live betting perspective, there is one advantage to analyze. With half the field playing the easier North Course on Thursday, other players who had great rounds at the South Course on Wednesday like Luke List (+2500) and Cameron Tringale (+2800) might be worth a sprinkle should Rahm falter. Both Justin Thomas (+1000) and Dustin Johnson (+1400) are also playing the North tomorrow and are worth watching.
*Since there is no strokes gained data from the North Course, there will not be an SG Rating sheet until after Friday's round when players will have each had two full rounds of data from the South Course.
