Streaming Tight Ends: Week 2 Targets
As is the case seasonally, a multitude of our offseason narratives were all but destroyed in Week 1 of the NFL season, leaving our hopes in particular players dashed while opening up the doors to other, less-heralded options ahead of Week 2. With this fresh base of 2021 information, I’ll be carving out tight end streaming options in response to that first week of the regular season in hopes of pegging players with the opportunity of TE1 production off of the waiver wire.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. Since aFPA requires a minimum of three-to-four weeks of data to provide truly reliable results, in these early weeks, streaming options will be selected based on a combination of metrics, along with last season’s numbers. 4for4 rankings also come into play here and should always be considered when making league-specific roster decisions.
In order to provide advice you can actually implement, candidates for streaming must be rostered in no more than 40% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.
Week 1 Review
In a surprisingly prolific Week 1 for tight ends, our optimal streamer Cole Kmet turned his seven targets into 6.7 half-PPR points and finished the week as the TE20. As long as we are foretelling that sort of usage, the fantasy points will follow.
