Waiver Wire Watch: Week 2
Week 1 is always a bit wild. Things happen in Week 1 that the football cognoscenti will draw conclusions from for weeks. Yet, as the season progresses and teams balance out, we’ll look back on Week 1 and realize how silly things were. This is my semi-long-winded way of telling you to not overreact to Week 1. Don’t trade away all of your Packers. Don’t pick up all of the Texans (although some could be good adds, see below). Take this week for what it is: one piece of data in a long season. We need to stay sharp and adjust as the season progresses. And yet, fantasy is a weekly game, so below are a number of picks to target on waivers this week.
Recommendations are based on a PPR-scoring, four-point passing touchdown, 12-team league, with roster percentages coming from Yahoo. I try to mention when a player is a better streaming play (short-term/one-week starter) versus a long-term addition. Lastly, the great John Paulsen will edit this article every week and adjust rankings (and prices, starting next week), if necessary. Essentially, you’re getting two minds collaborating on this piece instead of one, so lucky you.
