Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 3 Targets
Week 1 gave us excitement and general highs and lows that come with football returning to our lives. Week 2 brought panic. At least four quarterbacks were tended to by their medical staff with two exiting their games early. Notable skill position players were also sent to the medical tent or locker room for various injuries. Practice reports will be heavily scrutinized throughout the week, but we’ve still got waiver claims to make on Tuesday. And, I’ve got some quarterback streaming recommendations ready to help your squad out. But first, let’s review last week’s results and find any process adjustments that need to be made.

Week 2 Results
I don’t know if I’d categorize Derek Carr’s Week 2 results as a miss, but I’ll be considering him more often moving forward. He was on the road after playing in overtime on Monday night and facing a top coverage defense, but he still came through with 24.2 points. Teddy Bridgewater, my top streaming rec from last week, almost paced him falling just three points short but still had a productive day.
Type | Player | FPTS | Rank |
---|---|---|---|
Top Play | Teddy Bridgewater | 21.2 | 11 |
Deep | Mac Jones | 7.4 | 29 |
Ben Roethlisberger | 13.8 | 24 | |
K.I.T. | Baker Mayfield | 17.5 | 17 |
Kirk Cousins | 25.3 | 6 |
It’s always good when the process matches the results. Despite being on the road, Bridgewater checked most of the boxes I use when considering a streamer (favored, high neutral passing rate, etc.). Jerry Jeudy’s absence was a concern, but Courtland Sutton’s on-field presence (along with the other pass-catchers) negated any doubt. The deeper plays didn’t net as much value as I had hoped, though.
The Patriots’ defense sent Zach Wilson to his room after four interceptions which simplified the game for Mac Jones. He only had three attempts of more than 15 air yards while mostly relying on running backs and tight ends. Roethlisberger tried to push it downfield but was largely unsuccessful (only connected on 4 of 12) despite the volume. With Diontae Johnson also among the injured, Roethlisberger’s streaming viability takes a hit.
