Week 5 IDP Waiver Wire: Pickups & Targets (Fantasy Football 2022)

The big injury last week was Myles Garrett flipping his Porsche. He ended up missing Week 4, and word is, the effects could linger for a few weeks. Shaq Leonard and Denzel Perryman's returns were short-lived, as they each suffered concussions that knocked them out early. Lewis Cine suffered a gruesome ankle injury which is going to cost him the rest of the season.

In non-injury news, Bobby Okereke appeared to be benched at the beginning of the game against Tennessee. The Colts opted to go with Leonard, Zaire Franklin, and EJ Speed. Okereke's snaps could have been limited had Leonard not left with a concussion. The trade deadline is looming, so keep your eyes and ears out for all news.

We're heading into Week 5, so here are the IDP targets for your waiver wire this week.

Linebacker

Leighton Vander Esch, LB, Dallas Cowboys

If Leighton Vander Esch is available, it’s a good week to pick him up. LVE’s Week 3 game reminded me of the peach Kramer bought from Joe’s fruit stand. It was subpar. However, I’m not banning him from my store, or in this case, my lineup. He bounced back like he was George buying the fruit for Jerry and Kramer.

LVE is someone who’s always around the ball. He takes good angles and is quick to diagnose plays. As of now, he’s healthy and has appeared in nearly 88% of the snaps. In Week 4, he was on the field for 92% of the snaps. He’s looking like a solid LB3.
