The Bears can’t pass any less in 2023 since their 22.2 attempts per game were not only a league-low mark but also the first time a team averaged less than 23 passes since the 1979 Chiefs. It was such an outlier rate that we can logically project Chicago to pass more by default.
Adding context to it, however, 16 teams (excluding last year’s crop) have averaged fewer than 28 passes since 2011, and those offenses averaged 31.4 pass attempts the following year with 13 of the 16 teams (81%) increasing their weekly output.
