2023 Fantasy Football IDP Rankings Breakdown: Linebackers
My 2023 IDP rankings have been released, so that means fantasy football season is here. For some, it never really left. The NFL Draft is long gone and OTAs are beginning. So, it’s “overreacting to players in shorts making plays against air” season!!
Rankings are great, but I like breaking them down into tiers. Ranks can be a bit subjective and can vary, but with tiers, you can get an idea of the guys you like and target a particular tier. I’ll also identify some of my favorite targets within each tier.

Linebacker is deep and has become subject to the same type of theories as positional players, namely RB. You’ve heard of zero-RB, many are deploying zero-LB strategies. The position is rife with talent, however, the number of players more than 90% of the snaps is dwindling. The players who are playing 80% of the snaps are now viable IDP targets.
Snap volume will always be king, however, the run-stuffing specialist still has some value in deeper leagues. If there were a show called Linebacker Hoarders, I’d probably be featured, as I tend to leave my draft with at least six.
