Week 2 IDP Waiver Wire: Pickups & Targets (Fantasy Football 2023)
Week 1 came and went without much of a whimper. However, there were a few injuries in which you'll need to hit the wire for replacements. Nakobe Dean looks like he'll miss a month and Jalen Pitre suffered an internal lung injury.
As we head into Week 2, here are a few names to grab from your waiver to help keep you afloat.

Linebacker
Christian Elliss/Rashaan Evans, LB, Philadelphia Eagles
The Naoke Dean breakout might be on hold for the next month. Dean suffered an injury that caused him to leave in the third quarter, and he was later spotted in a walking boot. As a result, he’ll be out for the next several games.
Christian Elliss is the next man up (at least for this week) and he wore the dot when Dean exited. Elliss finished with 34 defensive snaps and produced an 11.8% tackle rate. He’s a versatile LB who can make plays against the run and will get sent in on blitzes, as evidenced below. Elliss gets to Mac Jones, who gets away, but right in the waiting arms of Jalen Carter:
Rashaan Evans was just added to the practice squad, so the leash on Elliss and even Zach Cunningham could be short. Evans is worth a speculative add if you think he’ll see more snaps over the next few weeks.
Update 9/12/2022: The Eagles promoted Nicholas Morrow to the active roster and Rashaan Evans is still on the practice squad. I don't see Evans being ready to go, but Morrow could see snaps and wind up in a rotation this week. The Eagles deployed nickel/2-LB packages primarily, so we'll have to see how the rotation shakes out. I do believe Christian Elliss should see the majority of the snaps as Dean's backup and playcaller. I think Morrow impacts Cunningham more than Elliss.
