DST Strength of Schedules Beneficiaries & Pairings
Streaming defenses in fantasy football is a key strategy for 2024 that can give you an advantage over your opponents. We'll look at strength of schedules to help us find viable streaming options. I’ll be using 4for4’s Hot Spot Strength of Schedule Tool to find DSTs that have an advantageous start to the season, and some to keep in mind for later in the season. The Hot Spot tool uses Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) from 2023 to rank the caliber of the opponent for each team every week.
With most everyone waiting until the final rounds to target their defense, it can feel like a bit of a crapshoot. ADP doesn’t matter as much with everyone waiting, but a spike performance from your defense can be a huge advantage in a given week. We’re looking to avoid elite quarterbacks and offenses and target bad offensive lines and quarterbacks. In a sense, the talent of the defense itself matters less than those of the opponents on the other side. It’s something to keep in mind when drafting.
