The process of streaming defenses is waiting out the elite options by ADP and waiting until later in the draft to make a selection. You likely won't stick with that selection for more than a few weeks and will continuously play matchups throughout the season. Streaming defenses is not for the faint of heart. People love to talk about how defenses (and kickers) don’t matter, but every year someone starts a run in the draft before the final two rounds on kickers and defense. You can either give in and try to grab one of the elite defenses, or you can commit to streaming and playing matchups throughout the season. Personally, I’ve found that adding that late-round running back or an under-the-radar rookie receiver has a far bigger impact on my season than the defense I drafted early and then had to drop as soon as it faces an elite offense or heads on bye.
