NFL Spread and O/U Picks: Hunter's Week 10 Best Bets
Lost in the chaos of the US presidential election is the 2024 NFL trade deadline news excitement. Lions are buying, trading some late-round picks swaps for Za’darius Smith to bolster up the defensive line after Defensive Player of the Year hopeful Aidan Hutchinson’s season-ending injury. Cowboys head scratchingly trade a 4th round pick for Jonathan Mingo. That trade, plus other reports of Jerry Jones claiming the Cowboys are a trade deadline buyer days after Dak Prescott has a multi-week hamstring injury, is very confusing to us on the outside looking in. The Commanders get the biggest trade of the day in getting Marshon Lattimore, short of a blockbuster trade after I submit to editing. The Commanders have been better than the market is pricing them at already on the defensive side of the ball, but Lattimore will fill in a very important roster gap and make the Commanders a legitimate contender in the NFC.
As for the on-field performance, our 2024 luck returned in week 9. Atlanta bobbles an extra point snap early in the 4th quarter to lose our team total by the hook. The Eagles crushed the Jaguars in every way for an entire afternoon, outgaining them by 232 yards and 1.9 yards per play, and somehow didn’t cover -7 (my ‘true score’ would have made it 30-14). These two results were the difference between a +7.2U week and a -2.3U week. But alas, we ended the week by going 2-3 for -2.3 units. Time to pick ourselves up and get back to the winning ways for Week 10.
