Week 2 Good Vibes, Bad Vibes (Who Should I Start)

Week 1 vibes were all over the place, both in real and fantasy football. We had two exciting games to start us off on back-to-back nights but sadly ended the NFL’s first game in Brazil with an injury to Jordan Love.

Sunday morning, the vibes turned to the bizarre side with the video of Tyreek Hill’s sidewalk detainment flying around the socials along with plenty of uncertainty, then the news cycle quickly shifted to Dak Prescott getting PAID. Monday night’s vibe stayed odd as the consensus 1.01 fantasy pick was scratched from the game less than two hours before kickoff, leaving many managers scrambling to find a warm body to insert into lineups.

Now it’s time to try to make sense of everything that took place and figure out how to use that info to harness the vibes for Week 2.

*Note: For now we only have last year’s schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA) numbers to go on, but by Week 4, we have a pretty good sample size to work from. The data gets even more trustworthy as the season wears on and once we hit Week 12, we'll start using rolling 10-week data so the numbers stay relevant.

Quarterbacks

Dak Prescott vs. Saints

Signing a deal worth $240 million with 96% of it guaranteed plus a no-trade clause brings some serious positive vibes. Dak Prescott was the QB17 just hours after inking that deal but he was on the road in Cleveland. This week he’s back home where he put up an average of 24.8 fantasy points per game in Jerry World in 2023.
