Fantasy Football Defense Streaming Week 8: All Hail The Chiefs

It wasn’t a great week for streaming defenses, but we did manage to find some deeper options that worked out well. With no byes this week, we have everyone at our disposal and we have a few solid options available in a large portion of leagues if you are in need.

With no byes this week, we won’t have to worry about as many people fighting us for priority defenses so if you managed to pick up the Bengals or Jaguars and get a great score out of them last week the options will be available for you to stream this week.

Week 7 Review

Our top option of the week, the Saints, was a major dud. The offense was a disaster without Derek Carr, Chris Olave, and Rashid Shaheed and Box Nix avoided the catastrophic decisions. That was a recipe for a dud.

That said, our two deep dives both finished as top-10 defenses on the week, and the Bengals finished as the DST5 on the week. Both were major hits, and I managed to pick up the Jaguars in a few leagues and the Bengals in a few leagues with the Bears on bye or committing to streaming in general.

Overall, we’re at 18 hits and 7 misses this year.

Top Defensive Streaming Options for Week 8

Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders

Rostered in 60% of Yahoo Leagues

We mentioned this in the look-ahead portion of the article last week and with the matchup against the 49ers, it looks like a decent amount of people dropped the Chiefs now with a matchup against the Raiders on deck they not only fit our criteria but are one of the top defenses on the week.

The Raiders are 30th aFPA against opposing defenses and with Gardner Minshew potentially back in at quarterback, they should be slightly more pass-heavy. The Chiefs have been a solid defensive team, but haven’t been putting up massive scores. In fact, they only have two top 10 weeks so far. Regardless, a matchup against the Raiders should allow them to make it a third time.
