Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Week 9: Last Call For Matthew Stafford
Week 8 brought some excellent stat lines for quarterbacks. Five players threw for at least 300 yards. Six quarterbacks threw at least three touchdown passes. Then there was Jalen Hurts, who threw a touchdown pass and added three rushing touchdowns.
After every team played in Week 8, the 49ers and Steelers will be on a bye for Week 9. Still, there should be plenty of streaming options to consider, especially for those in need at quarterback.
For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season progresses and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.
To provide advice you can implement, candidates for streaming must be rostered in no more than 40% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.

Week 8 Recap
We had two big wins among our streaming options last week. Box Nix finished as QB2, posting three passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown against the Panthers. He also threw for 284 yards, which was the highest mark of his young career. Another big winner was Jameis Winston, who finished as QB8. In his first start of the season, he threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns against the Ravens.
Drake Maye was on his way toward a valuable performance with 46 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown against the Jets, but he was forced to leave in the second quarter with a concussion that sidelined him for the remainder of the game. Still, the Patriots managed to pull out a victory.

Matthew Stafford (Rams) at Seahawks
Heading into Week 8, it had largely been a disappointing season for Stafford. He had thrown for fewer than 225 yards in four of six games and had a total of just three touchdown passes. Part of his struggles could have been attributed to Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua missing extended stretches because of injuries. With both of them back in the fold against the Vikings, Stafford threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns.
Stafford will look to stay hot in Week 9 when he faces the Seahawks, who rank 21st in aFPA to quarterbacks. As a result of his early season struggles, Stafford is rostered in only 40% of Yahoo leagues. This might be the last week that he qualifies for this column.
