Wichita State vs. Tulane Odds & Picks: Green Wave Sweep
Wichita State and Tulane both come into this contest off a nice conference win, unfortunately for the Shockers, their 84-79 triumph over UCF was the first of the season for them. After dropping their first four AAC games against some tough competition (including one against this very same Tulane squad), Wichita State is looking to build off Wednesday’s win and exact some revenge on the Green Wave. Getting one in the win column is always great, but the Shockers really have to love the way they got it done, scoring 15+ points more than their season average. If they want to get back in the race in a competitive American, they’ll need to see more of this from the offense.
Tulane moved to 5-3 on Wednesday with an absolute drubbing of Tulsa, but they still sit below .500 for the season overall. Despite a couple of choppy performances versus SMU and Central Florida, the 97-point outburst was a glimpse of how explosive the Green Wave offense can be at times. Mostly led by freshman guard Jalen Cook, the scoring can really take off when his backcourt partner Jaylen Forbes plays up to his potential. They were responsible for 47 of the team's 97 points in the win against Tulsa.
The first matchup was a one-point Tulane win that was decided by a 40-25 second half that erased a nice 14-point Shockers halftime lead. The Green Wave shot 58% from three in that one which, while tough to repeat, isn’t out of the question this time around considering they own the best deep ball rate in the American. A spot where Tulane can be vulnerable again this time around is on the offensive glass, as their strong backcourt doesn’t always have a great compliment up front. Wichita State hasn’t been great in the paint with defensive rebounding but did limit Tulane to just four offensive rebounds earlier this month.

Wichita State vs. Tulane Best Bet
Tulane +1 (-110, DK)
The revenge angle is a tough sell when the team expected to dole out said revenge is heading on the road against the second-best offense in the league (behind only No. 7 ranked Houston). I certainly can’t expect a 1.47 points per possession scorcher again from Tulane but Wichita’s track record thus far against AAC competition doesn’t have me ruling it out!. The total is set right where it needs to be but the Green Wave could send the home crowd happy and win by about a half dozen for the season sweep of the Shockers.
