Agent: Plax plans to return this fall

Plaxico Burress is still facing an indictment, a possible trial, and maybe as many as 15 years in prison. But none of that will stop him from playing in the NFL this fall.

That's what his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Monday, a little more than an hour after the weapons possession case against Burress was adjourned until Sept. 23. Though Burress may be indicted by a Grand Jury by then, Rosenhaus said he doesn't expect a trial to begin until 2010.So Burress, who was released by the Giants in April and is now an unrestricted free agent, is free to immediately resume his NFL career.

"Now that the legal process is on hold, we are hoping to have a deal in place with a team for Plex before training camps start," Rosenhaus said in a statement released through his Twitter account.

The only roadblock to that is a possible NFL suspension for violating the league's Personal Conduct Policy
