Running back Arian Foster underwent back surgery in California on Thursday, but the Texans provided no information other than coach Gary Kubiak saying, “His surgery went well, and that’s about all I know. I don’t normally have any more particulars on it. (He’ll) start the recovery process (now).”
It will be interesting to see how the Texans handle Foster, who is signed through 2016, and pending free agent Ben Tate, who is two years younger and has a higher career YPC (4.9 to 4.5). If Tate runs well down the stretch, the Texans could have a RB controversy on their hands. If Foster's surgery goes well, the club could probably find a trade partner, though his contract is sizable.
