Bills coach Rex Ryan said on Monday that the team would see how wide receiver Sammy Watkins‘ foot is feeling as the week progresses before deciding if he’ll be in the lineup against the Jets on Thursday night, but Watkins says there’s no reason for suspense.
Watkins spoke to the media on Monday and said that he is “definitely” going to be in the lineup as the Bills try to avoid an 0-2 start to the 2016 season.
Ryan said that Watkins told the medical staff that his surgically repaired foot was sore after the game and Watkins reportedly had x-rays to see if there was anything that would require further attention. Watkins said that his foot felt “tired,” but that everything checked out after a closer look. A report came out Monday from the New York Daily News that Watkins could be shut down, perhaps even for the season. Keep in mind this is a short week for Watkins and the Bills as they play on Thursday night.
