Kansas City Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel named Brady Quinn the team's starting quarterback Monday. Quinn replaces Matt Cassel, and will start for the Chiefs in their Week 8 game against the Oakland Raiders.
"Brady Quinn is the guy I want to go with," Crennel said in a press conference Monday. It appears Quinn will be given time to grow in to the role, as Crennel noted, "I want (Quinn) to be the starting quarterback without looking over his shoulder."
Matt Cassel will be cleared after a concussion, but Quinn will get the start this week against the Raiders. Based on Crennel's comments, he might be there for a while, too. He was 25-for-41 for just 212 against the weak Bucs passing defense in Week 6. The Raiders aren't much better, but Quinn is not going to be a safe start this week. This definitely hurts the fantasy stock of the entire Chiefs offense, including Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe.
