When it came to the ankle and toe injuries he sustained during the Jets' 34-20 loss at the Raiders on Sunday, wide receiver Brandon Marshall played it coy.
Marshall hurt a toe on one foot, and an ankle on the other, and he left the game for a handful of plays in the fourth quarter before eventually returning. He had X-rays done, but he declined to reveal the results, and he also declined to say which injury was more of a concern.
"I was able to finish the game, and I have a high—what is it?—tolerance for pain," Marshall said. "I'll be OK."
Asked if he'll need any additional tests done, Marshall said, "You'll have to ask coach that. More than likely."
Marshall also appeared to get his knee looked at, though he did admit there were no issues with his knee, the story said. Even with the injuries, and even with quarterbacks Ryan Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith both getting banged up, Marshall caught nine passes for 108 yards—his fifth 100-yard game of the season.
