The Broncos informed Paxton Lynch they are cutting him, source said.

This isn't a surprising move by the Broncos. Kelly has played well in the preseason and is already a fan favorite. It didn't take him long to pass Lynch on the depth chart during camp, and now Denver is moving on with Kelly as the backup to Keenum.
