The Browns waived running back Robert Turbin this morning and elevated offensive lineman Darrian Miller from the practice squad.
Turbin was claimed off waivers from Seattle in Week 1 despite having a high ankle sprain. The Browns cut receiver Terrelle Pryor, a former Ohio State quarterback, to clear room for Turbin.
But Turbin’s tenure was short. He saw his first action in Week 6 and he played three games with 18 carries for 60 yards. He dropped two fumbles Nov. 1 against Arizona, then didn’t play Thursday night against Cincinnati because of a coach’s decision.
The team recently cut Terrance West, so it now leaves them with Duke Johnson and Isaiah Crowell. Johnson has been excelling in the passing game making him a solid PPR play, but hasn't really been all that much of a factor running the ball. Last week, Crowell carried 10 times for 38 yards. The Browns will likely have to make a move for another back.
