A daunting offensive challenge for the Browns became officially all the more difficult early Saturday evening when the team announced its list of players declared out for Sunday's game due to injury.
On the list were running back Jamal Lewis (hamstring), kicker Phil Dawson (right calf) along with offensive linemen Rex Hadnot (knee) and Floyd Womack (ankle). Baltimore safety Ed Reed was listed as questionable on Friday.
To step in for Dawson, the Browns signed free agent Billy Cundiff, and waived running back Cedric Peerman. Cundiff was originally signed by Dallas as an undrafted free agent in 2002 and spent four seasons (2002-05) with the Cowboys. He spent a portion of the 2006 season with New Orleans, handling kickoff duties in five games, while also attempting one field goal.
In 58 career regular season games, he has converted 60-of-83 (.723) field goal attempts and 100-of-101 PATs for 280 career points. In 2003, Cundiff tied a then-NFL record with a career-high seven field goals against the N.Y. Giants.
