Cam Newton's toe injury 'not a bid deal'

The toe injury sustained by Panthers quarterback Cam Newton against the Jets on Sunday was "not that big a deal," Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Monday.

Newton injured his toe at the end of a 7-yard scramble on the Panthers' final offensive play of the first half, and was taken into the locker room before halftime to be examined.

Newton did not undergo X-rays on the toe, and Rivera said it is not being characterized as "turf toe."

Newton was the last Panthers' player to return to the field after halftime. But he didn't miss a snap.

Fantasy Impact:

The Panthers host the Saints in Week 16. Newton only had 12 rushing yards in the game but Rivera said his mobility wasn't limited. He should be good to go for your fantasy finals.
