Chargers QB Philip Rivers (concussion) expected to play in Week 11
Rivers entered the NFL's concussion protocol following last week's game against the Jaguars. His playing status since has been murky, but head coach Anthony Lynn believes Rivers will play this week.
Lynn on River's playing status: "We think he'll play (Sunday), but that's up to the doctors. That's not my decision."
Rivers has been a dependable QB2 this season, scoring 14+ fantasy points in 7-of-9 games. If he plays this week, he faces a Bills defense with the eighth-toughest matchup against QBs, according to our aFPA metric.
Only one QB has scored multiple TDs versus the Bills this season (Jameis Winston, 3 in Week 7) and the Bills defense has held QBs without a passing TD four times this season. We currently have Rivers ranked as our No. 12 QB, but with the difficult matchup and concussion issue, we wouldn't fault you for looking elsewhere at the position this week.
