Chiefs RB Spencer Ware has sore ribs

Lost in the various other story lines from Sunday night’s Kansas City Chiefs' win against Denver -- they clinched a playoff berth and kept alive their AFC West title hopes, Travis Kelce's huge game and Dontari Poe's pass -- was that running back Spencer Ware was well on his way to one of his best games of the season before leaving early in the fourth quarter with sore ribs.

Ware was on the sideline late in the game working with the Chiefs’ training staff as he attempted to work his way back into the game. But the Chiefs went with backup Charcandrick West as their featured back the rest of the way.

Fantasy Impact:

HC Andy Reid said Ware probably could have went back in, which is a good sign for his availability for Week 17 and the the playoffs. The team is still battling for the AFC West title and needs a win in San Diego next week. West would obviously see a lot more work if Ware can't go, as could Knile Davis. It's worth tracking Ware's practices this week leading up to Week 17.
