Communication problems appear to be complicating the Richard Seymour situation. According to a source, Seymour wasn't contacted by the Raiders as the trade was being worked out to see what his feeling was about coming to Oakland. Even now, communication among the Raiders, Patriots and Seymour is minimal, the source said.
The Patriots and Raiders have a disagreement over which team should send Seymour a letter ordering him to report. The Patriots' position is that they have traded his contract and it's not their problem. The Raiders' position is that Seymour needs to report to complete the trade. And if you are wondering if the Raiders have offered him more money to come, that hasn't happened yet. If Seymour continues to stay away, the league might have to get involved to sort out the disagreement between the two teams.
