With a depleted group of receivers, the Minnesota Vikings are glad Pro Bowl receiver Sidney Rice (hip) has been practicing this week.
"He's made it through the whole practices but in a different kind of capacity," Minnesota head coach Brad Childress said of Rice's workload this week. "He's taken turns with our starters, he's taken a lot of turns on the scout team. He takes the whole game plan in and goes through it."
Childress added "he's working through some soreness right now. You might say he could play in a limited sector, that's all still being determined. I think probably next week's probably more viable, but we're still going to see."
It's not like Chilly will ever be known as the most trusted man in America, but it's not a stretch to think Rice could be back next week. He's worth picking up as he could be a key guy for fantasy teams down the stretch.
