The Lions have just released this statement from the club: "Detroit Lions QB Daunte Culpepper sustained a minor cut to his toe at his home Saturday evening.
The injury, which required eight stitches, is not considered serious. Culpepper will not practice today and his status for Thursday's game will be determined later this week,''
The Lions close our their preseason schedule Thursday in Buffalo against the Bills. The Lions open the regular season Sept. 13 against the New Orleans Saints.
Culpepper and rookie Matthew Stafford are in a battle for the starting quarterback position. How this injury will affect that decision is unknown.
