Recent national reports suggest tight end 49 TE Vernon Davis has moved to wide receiver. That has not been the case at all.
Davis took part in all the individual drills at tight end. Then -- as he usually does -- he ran a handful of routes with the wide receivers at the end of the individual period.
Once the 49ers went into 7-on-7 and team drills, Davis lined up tight end with no snaps at wide receiver. He played one snap in the slot.
Seems like Davis' usual routine of running routes with the WRs could be getting blown out of proportion. For now, it looks like Davis is taking most of his snaps at TE, with perhaps an occasional play in the slot. Rookie Vance McDonald was expected to get a long look in camp, but right now he doesn't appear to be taking over for a Davis move to WR.
