Eagles QB Carson Wentz spoke on Tuesday for the first time since he has really had his reps cut back in practice. Wentz is no longer taking part in 11-on-11 drills despite doing so earlier on in camp.
"It is frustrating. Obviously getting the chance to be get out there and everything (earlier on in camp), I felt great," Wentz said. "Again, just trust what the doctors are saying and without a doubt it is tough to sit there and watch."
It doesn't sound like Wentz is going to be taking part in any kind of 11-on-11 work in the near future. Wentz almost certainly won't play on Thursday night and it also sounds like he won't be seeing an increase in reps anytime soon either."
"I think for next week it is going to be the same kind of routine," Wentz said, "and then kind of keep talking with the doctors and coaches to make a plan as well go."
One theory is the Eagles saw enough of Wentz when he opened the first two days of camp taking part in 11-on-11 drills. Another theory is Wentz has had a setback. As we reported recently, the team has not mentioned anything about a setback, and in this story, Wentz was quoted as saying the goal is still for him to play Week 1 against Atlanta.
