Eagles place WR Britain Covey (shoulder) on IR

Philadelphia has placed receiver Britain Covey on injured reserve after he suffered a shoulder injury during Sunday’s win over New Orleans.

Covey had to exit the game in the first half and was unable to return. He has caught seven passes for 34 yards so far this season. He’s also returned one punt for 9 yards.

Fantasy Impact:

Normally this may not be big news but the Eagles were involving Covey over the last two weeks before his injury. The other reason to pay attention is Brown is dealing with a hamstring issue and is in question for Week 4 - as is Smith who is in concussion protocol. That leaves Dotson, Wilson and Campbell as - possibly - the Eagles top-three WRs heading into Week 4. Even if that's the case, look for Goedert and Barkley to be heavily involved against the Bucs. Brown does have a chance to play but it's another situation to monitor this week.

Commanders running back Austin Ekeler was injured in the second half Monday night.

Washington ruled him out with a concussion.

Fantasy Impact:

Ekeler will likely land in protocol making his availability in question for Week 4, which is an away game in Arizona in the later window of Sunday's action. Robinson should see a bigger role if Ekeler can't go, and in Week 3, McNichols did see one carry and could end up with some touches if Ekeler has to miss Week 4.

And to top it off, 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is seeing a specialist in Germany regarding his Achilles tendinitis.

Fantasy Impact:

This doesn't sound good for CMC. Now owners can't help but wonder if McCaffrey will be back after missing his four games on IR. Mason has filled in well, gaining 5.2 yards per attempt with two touchdowns on the season. But at this point, with CMC seemingly a huge question mark, it may be time to pick up players like Guerendo and Taylor. Guerendo was the only other back to get carries in Week 3, running five times for 19 yards.

Rams WR Cooper Kupp (ankle) already out for Week 4

There won’t be any suspense about wide receiver Cooper Kupp’s status this week.

Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters on Monday that Kupp has been ruled out for the team’s Week 4 game against the Bears.

Fantasy Impact:

Kupp injured his ankle in Week 2. The story said the early decision to rule him out suggests he’ll be off the practice field again this week, but the team did not put Kupp on injured reserve so it would seem they expect him to play by Week 7 — they have a bye in Week Six — at the latest. Atwell led the way with a 4-93-0 line with Robinson going for 1-32-0. Whittington added a line of 3-28-0 and Johnson had 3-20-0. With Puka Nacua also out for at least two more weeks, the Rams WR situation seems a bit tricky for fantasy owners.
