Edwards' injury is camp mystery

A new Browns training camp presents a new Braylon Edwards issue.

There was his contract holdout as a rookie. There was the incident last year when he horsed around with Donté Stallworth without wearing shoes and had his heel gashed. Now there's the mystery injury that kept Edwards on the sideline as camp opened Saturday.

What happened? Edwards was asked.
"Talk to coach [Eric] Mangini about that and see what he says," he replied.

Did it happen playing pickup basketball, as rumored?

"Talk to coach Mangini."

Coach?

"He has an injury," Mangini said.

Did the injury occur on or off the field?

"We're not going to directly address the specifics of any injury. I understand the need to ask it, but I hope you can respect that," Mangini said.
And so, Edwards begins his fifth season on the "nonfootball injury" list.
