Felix Jones has bruised knee

Felix Jones was on the sideline for most of the Cowboys’ final two drives Sunday at Carolina because of a bruised knee.

Jones ran for 44 yards on 15 carries, filling in for an injured DeMarco Murray, but he suffered a neck strain on the second play from scrimmage and a bruised knee later.

The Cowboys are hopeful Murray can return this week against the New York Giants after suffering a sprained left foot against Baltimore. Murray, who was in a protective boot and on crutches last week, will have more tests today. In the season-opening win against the Giants on Sept. 5, Murray ran for 131 yards on 20 carries.

Fantasy Impact:

Phillip Tanner had to handle the RB duties with normal starter DeMarco Murray out of action. Jones' injury doesn't seem serious, but with Murray in question as well for Week 8, Tanner could find himself as a starter depending on how things shake out. Obviously, a lot will need to be sorted out this week.
