The Chicago Bears have signed QB Trevor Siemian to back up Justin Fields.

Siemian is not the most inspiring backup choice, but his ability to extend plays with his legs will allow Chicago to run the same offense should Fields miss any time.

With Justin Fields in COVID-19 protocols, QB Andy Dalton will start for the Chicago Bears Week 18 according to HC Matt Nagy.

Dalton has some upside in 2QB or Superflex leagues, but that is about it.

Justin Fields said his left hand was swollen and that he’d be going for X-rays to assess any damage. On Monday, head coach Matt Nagy said that Fields has a contusion and should be good to go this week.

Fields returned to the lineup on Sunday night after missing a couple of games with cracked ribs. “I feel like he should be good,” Nagy said, via NBCSportsChicago.com, in terms of Fields' hand injury.

It's more of a pain-tolerance for Fields and the team isn't going to put him at risk. The fact Fields practiced last week, albeit in a limited fashion, should be a good sign for his potential to return, the story said.
