Cowboys RB Demarco Murray has missed the last two games with a sprained left foot. While he’s made progress, he hasn’t practiced since Oct. 12 and there is no guarantee he’s return this week. This is an injury that can linger.
“We’ll just have to see,” head coach Jason Garrett said. “It seems like he’s moving around a little bit better. Again, that’s an injury you have to be patient with. We don’t want to rush him back then take any backward steps. We’ll see how he is day-by-day this week.”
Despite optimism from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, it seems like a longshot that Murray will be able to reclaim his featured role this weekend against the Falcons. Felix Jones will fill in if Murray remains out with Phillip Tanner backing him up. Jones out-touched Tanner 13-3 in Week 8, but was not productive (13 rushed for 19 yards) outside of a touchdown.
