Giants moved Kyle Lauletta up to QB2 for Week 13

Pat Shurmur moved Kyle Lauletta up to the No. 2 spot on the depth chart and activated him Sunday ahead of 31-year-old veteran Alex Tanney, which seems like an indication the fourth-round pick is closer to being ready to go into a game and the Giants are getting more comfortable with the idea.

Fantasy Impact:

The story speculated the Giants could use the Patrick Mahomes approach, and at least start Lauletta in Week 17 like the Chiefs did with Mahomes last year in Week 17. They eventually traded Alex Smith. The Giants are mathematically alive in the NFC East, so until they are eliminated the team is expected to stick with Manning at QB, according to the story. But the move to QB2 does seem to indicate the Giants may want to get a look at Lauletta before the season is over - much like the Chiefs did with Mahomes.
