For the first time in weeks, Giants first-round pick Odell Beckham Jr. was catching punts at practice on Wednesday. He was seen running more last week despite a hamstring problem that ruined his summer.
Beckham feels "good." Not fully healthy, not capable of participating in practice or, heaven forbid, a game. But at least the hamstring and his health are "good."
By the way, there still remains no timetable on his return.
"I feel good. I feel good," Beckham said Wednesday as the Giants prepared for the second game of the season, which will almost certainly be without the much-needed playmaker. "It is just something that takes time. It's not there yet. So we don"t want to rush it back again."
It sounds as if Beckham will miss at least another week. Jerrel Jernigan will continue to start.
