49ers WR Marquise Goodwin is dealing with a personal matter and is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Panthers.

Goodwin did not practice Thursday or Friday. The 49ers just acquired WR Emmanuel Sanders and were very high on acquiring him to play him against the Panthers. The game is in the late afternoon window so have a backup plan set beforehand in case Goodwin becomes inactive.

After listening to offers over the last week, the Broncos traded Emmanuel Sanders and a 2020 fifth-round pick to the San Francisco 49ers for a third- and fourth-round selection in next year’s draft.

The 49ers now have a number-one target. The 9ers haven't got much out of their WRs this year: Samuel 15-169-1, Pettis 9-83-1, Goodwin 11-181-1, so Sanders should at least maintain his fantasy value with a chance to increase it as he gets more familiar with the offense.

Meanwhile in Denver, Sutton remains the WR1 with Hamilton and Spencer moving up the depth chart.

Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin was evaluated for a concussion Sunday after he was belted by cornerback Jimmy Moreland while running a route over the middle in the first quarter of the 49ers’ game at Washington.

Goodwin was briefly face down on the field before he slowly walked off flanked by two trainers.

The story said Goodwin has suffered at least four other concussions since 2014 and has been in protocol at least six times.

49ers wide receiver snaps – Deebo Samuel 60, Marquise Goodwin 50, Richie James 26, Kendrick Bourne 17, Dante Pettis 2.

Samuel and Goodwin were the starting WRs with Samuel leading the way with 60 snaps. But, Samuel only caught three passes for 17 yards and lost a fumble. He did catch a successful two-point conversation.

Beat writer Matt Barrows believes the first four receiver spots would go to "Dante Pettis, Deebo Samuel, Jalen Hurd, and Trent Taylor," and that would leave just "two spots for Marquise Goodwin, Jordan Matthews, Kendrick Bourne and Richie James" to compete over.

Barrows says that all the receivers competing for a spot have had good days, but of late it's Been Kendrick Bourne putting up the strongest work. Marquise Goodwin likely still has an in based on his work in the past, but he's not locked in, which means he shouldn't be locked into your draft day plans.
