Packers WR Greg Jenning has missed the past three games with the lingering groin injury he suffered in the Sept. 9 season opener against San Francisco, and while several players hinted after the Packers’ victory at St. Louis that there was a good chance Jennings could be back for this Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Lambeau Field, an NFL source said Tuesday evening that Jennings was out of town Tuesday visiting a specialist to get another opinion on his injury.
Whether that means Jennings will be cleared to return to action or there is something more amiss with the groin than first thought is unclear. But it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Jennings could be sidelined until after the team’s bye week.
Generally, it's not a good sign when players visit a different specialist this deep in their recovery. Green Bay has a very winnable game this week against the Jaguars before squaring off against the Cardinals next week. The team may elect to wait until after the Week 10 bye to bring him back.
