Colts RB Marlon Mack (hamstring) took limited practice reps again Thursday. Mack may be able to return this week. Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines haven’t impressed in the two games that Mack missed, so if he can play, he may be in for a large workload.

Colts RB Marlon Mack (foot, hamstring, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 3. With Mack out again, Jordan Wilkins would likely serve as the lead back for the Colts with Nyheim Hines rotating in. With Mack out Week 1, Wilkins saw 17 touches for 61 yards while Hines turned 12 touches into 52 yards. It’s a bad matchup against the Eagles, so neither player is particularly appealing.

Sounds like Colts RB Marlon Mack's prognosis has improved. Reich said both he and Anthony Castonzo have made good progress over the past two days.

Related players: Jordan Wilkins, Nyheim Hines, Christine Michael.

Fantasy Impact:

In last week's story about Mack, it said he wasn't a slam dunk to be ready for Week 1 with his bum hamstring. But this report certainly seems like there could be a chance, so owners will want to continue to monitor. If Mack is unable to suit up, it means more action for Wilkins, Hines and Michael.

Colts RB Nyheim Hines fumbles again

Colts rookie running back Nyheim Hines fumbled in the team's second preseason game Monday night. It was his fourth fumble in two games.

Fantasy Impact:

This is a big problem with respect to Hines' ability to earn playing time as a rookie. We know that coaches do not like to put players on the field who put the ball on the ground. While it does seem like Hines probably just has a case of the yips, it is worth noting that he fumbled seven times in his final two seasons at N.C. State on just 343 combined all-purpose touches. This may be an ongoing issue.
