Rams QB Austin Davis was 22-of-29 for 235 yards and didn’t turn the ball over while directing the Rams to victory, a far better outing than either he or Week 1 starter Shaun Hill turned in against the Vikings.
It wasn’t enough to force coach Jeff Fisher to rethink who will start at quarterback once Hill has recovered from the thigh injury that kept him off the field against Tampa.
“No,” Fisher said, via the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “When Shaun comes back, he’s our starter. I’m really proud of Austin, but Shaun’s our starter when he can play.”
Starters aren't supposed to lose their job to injury, as the story points out, but if Hill comes back and struggles the Rams could turn back to Austin rather quickly after this performance.
