Wide receiver Ben Skowronek is out for the season after straining a calf muscle Monday night against the Packers.

The Rams are just trying to get to the end of the season at this point but lose yet another player to the IR. Jefferson and Atwell will look to lead the way at WR to close things out.

The Rams officially ended Allen Robinson‘s season Tuesday, placing him on injured reserve.

Robinson injured his foot in Week 11 against the Saints, and a CT scan Friday revealed a stress fracture on the navicular bone and will need surgery to repair the injury.

The hits keep coming for the Rams. Robinson had 33 catches on 52 targets for 339 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games for the team. Robinson remains under contract with the team through 2024 after signing a three-year, $46.5 million deal in March. Jefferson, Skowronek, Atwell and Powell will be the team's top-four WRs. Needless to say, the Rams offense looks to be one to stay away from in fantasy.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals and the injury will require surgery, head coach Sean McVay announced on Tuesday.

Kupp will be having tightrope surgery on Wednesday and the All-Pro WR will be placed on injured reserve, holding him out for at least four games, McVay added according to the story. While it's possible Kupp could return to this season, according to several other sources, with the Rams season fading fast there may be no reason to do that. It's a big loss for fantasy owners who were still getting fantasy production despite the Rams struggles on offense. TE Higbee could see a nice bump in production while at WR, Robinson, Jefferson and Skowronek could also see increases. It's a big hit for the already-struggling QB Matthew Stafford.

Following an MRI of what was purported to be a "very painful" ankle injury, Cooper Kupp is expected to miss some time, though the exact length is to be determined.

Though Kupp's massive target share will likely be spread out quite evenly, Van Jefferson could be in for the biggest boost, per beat reporter Jordan Rodrigue. The Rams have quickly plummeted from Super Bowl winners into one of the worst offenses in the NFL, severely capping the fantasy ceiling of everybody in the lineup, even more so with their best offensive weapon sidelined.

It was reported the Rams would use a committee approach behind Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson if Jefferson couldn't go so we'll assume that's the plan at this point. That means a likely combo of Skowronek and Atwell.

Van Jefferson had the second of two separate offseason knee procedures as training camp opened in late July. While he has stayed on track with his rehab — which initially projected a return right around this time — the Rams have maintained that he’s “day-to-day”, and internally have agreed that they will not rush him back in the hopes that he’s healthy and available for the season as a whole (even if that means missing the opener).

The story went on to say that since the start of his absence, the Rams have approached the position “by committee,” meaning a couple of different receivers took over Jefferson’s snap allotment in training camp and in joint practices against the Bengals in late August. That would be the most likely case if Jefferson misses games to start the season. As the story went on to say, Skowronek and Atwell have both emerged as options, but, both players’ rookie seasons were tough. Atwell missed the start of training camp while recovering from COVID-19 and then suffered a season-ending shoulder injury, while Skowronek, who initially contributed mostly on special teams, rotated into the offense late in the season and postseason because of injuries to other players — but also worked through consistency issues.

Rodrigue would continue, "His hands are sharp, his speed is there, and he got more reps, especially with WR3 Van Jefferson recovering from knee surgery."

Tutu Atwell —all 165 pounds of him— is incredibly unlikely ever to become an every-down player, but the Rams presumably took him with the 57th-overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft for a reason. The article mentions that if the season started tomorrow, with Van Jefferson still sidelined, that there would be a committee approach behind Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson. It's a long shot, but if Atwell can squeeze into a WR3 role for the Rams he would become an interesting late-round addition to best ball, "non-managed" leagues.

Hearing WR Van Jefferson’s surgery went great, and my sense is that it’s realistic to believe he can return by the Sept. 8 opener.

Rodrigue went on to tweet that obviously Jefferson's experience in the offense means he can get back on board quickly once cleared. She added the team won’t pressure him, but so far things seem encouraging. The Rams should be just fine at WR with Kupp and Robinson. Next up are Skowronek and Atwell.

Rams head coach Sean McVay says Jefferson has a "little knee tweak", the timetable for return is a few weeks.

This puts a bit of a damper on anyone who has already drafted Van Jefferson this summer, but McVay also stated that there is "definitely a chance" that he will be ready for the season-opener against the Bills. This may end up being the landing spot for Will Fuller, who still remains a free agent at this time.
