Jets Beat: Stevan Ridley could get some work Week 9

It's pretty clear that, if health wasn't an issue, Chris Ivory and Stevan Ridley would be the Jets' top two running backs, in that order.

Yes, Ridley is physically recovered from major knee surgery. But he needs to establish timing in the Jets' offense. Remember, it's been a long time — since last Oct. 12 — that he played in a game. Getting back into game shape and rhythm doesn't happen immediately. Ridley came off the physically unable to perform list for last week's game in Oakland, but part of the reason why he didn't get any carries is that the Jets had to abandon the run game, in order to catch up.

I think there's a good chance you'll see Ridley get some work this week against the Jaguars.

Fantasy Impact:

Ridley looks like the handcuff for Ivory owners based on what the author of this story said. The Jets want to keep Ivory fresh down the stretch, since his bruising running style can really punish his body. Ridley gives the Jets a talented back — he has more talent than Bilal Powell or Zac Stacy — who can relieve Ivory, the story said. The piece also said Ridley can't just step into that No. 2 running back role immediately. It'll take him a couple games to work his way back.
