The Jets quarterback competition could come to a conclusion Monday night if either Mark Sanchez or Kellen Clemens shines against the vaunted Baltimore Ravens' defense. Coach Rex Ryan admitted that he could "definitely" name his starter next week before the third preseason game against the Giants on Aug. 29 if one of the quarterbacks produces in a big way against one of the league's stingiest defenses.
"You're going against (a) top group," Ryan said Saturday morning after the team's open practice at their Florham Park facility. "Obviously, you're taking the body of work. It won't be just through one game. But if somebody steps up and shines against what is one of the best defenses in the National Football League, then you have to weight it more than you would going against somebody else."
